A Tribute to Dusty Peak

Celebrating the life of a great husband, father, surfer, community leader

I have lived in Malibu part time for thirty years. Dusty was really my only friend in Malibu. We met in a meeting, saw each other every day for years, I visited him at UCLA hospital, saw him surfing, was amazed at his ability, strength and self confidence--and especially his protectiveness of his son. He did a lot of electrical work for me and always did it well. I don't know how else to say this, but Malibu seems like another place without Dusty. A lonelier place.

Malibu IS a lonelier place without Dusty. You are so right Ben.Everything feels different now.Yes,one person can make a difference-a huge difference.

Dear Ben,

Thanks for your kind words. I remember you from Thurs nights at Pt. Dume Community Center now Pt. Dume school. You gave me a copy of your book and Dusty read it before I could. He loved it and enjoyed working for you. He always was a big fan of yours but often kept that quiet. Thanks for your lovely message. I have been slow at responding to everyone but wanted to let you know how much it meant to him when you came to the hospital. He will always be in my heart. Thanks Denise
