A Tribute to Dusty Peak

Celebrating the life of a great husband, father, surfer, community leader

I hope it is ok for me to do this.
I am Leslie - was Bill's "other-half" for many years. We still shared the same apartment in Mar Vista but our life together had changed over the past year or so.
Bill died yesterday after a horrible accident on the 90 Marina Freeway. I won't go into detail, but he died at the UCLA Medical Center last night.
I'm just trying to get the word out to as many friends as possible. Bill was so blessed to reconnect with many of you over the past couple of weeks. This is a tragedy, but I believe he is now completely free -- able to be rid of so many things that caused him difficulty in his life.
Please feel free to email me at mommymezzo1@aol.com
I will have more information as the days progress.
Right now I don't really know what to do.

I think he and Dusty are out there -- standing tall -- bodies healed -- and smiling on the waves.

Peace and blessings ...
Leslie

Leslie,
I only reconnected with Bill on his page on Dusty's memorial website a few weeks ago. I had not seen him for over 30 years. I remember him as a jovial, light hearted person who laughed a lot and made others laugh. I reminded him of a bb gun war we had up in Zuma canyon many years ago with Dusty and the boys. I am really sorry to hear of his sudden passing and my heart goes out to you and all who were close to him over the years. A memorial website for Bill might be a good place to start. Friends and loved ones can share stories and connect. The story of Bill's life can emerge and be told. Steve
thanks guys.
i have created a page for bill -- it's not fancy, but it's the best i can do right now. i'm hoping it's a place where friends can share stories and laugh and cry and be.

Dear Leslie , I was so sad to hear about Billy and I am hoping you are doing better now. It is never easy when you lose your best friend and partner. My heart goes out to you and I hope you are getting stronger as time marches forward. I am thinking of you Denise
