Important -- about Bill (Billy) Carter

I hope it is ok for me to do this.I am Leslie - was Bill's "other-half" for many years. We still shared the same apartment in Mar Vista but our life together had changed over the past year or so.Bill died yesterday after a horrible accident on the 90 Marina Freeway. I won't go into detail, but he died at the UCLA Medical Center last night.I'm just trying to get the word out to as many friends as possible. Bill was so blessed to reconnect with many of you over the past couple of weeks. This is a…See More

How do you say goodbye to a good friend. The only way I can think of is paying tribute to that person who you’ve known and loved for so many years. So, Dusty Peak, this is all about youI met Dusty in 1967 in my sophomore year at `Samohi. Eventually our friendship progressed to me going up there and staying for the weekends, when I could go down to what I discovered to be the most beautiful beach in the world. And it had waves, man, did it have waves! Here I was, a kid who grew up in Santa…See More

Bill,
When I saw your name I immediately remembered a BB gun war we had up in Bonsail canyon with Larry Erwin, myself, Russel Erwin, Dusty, Doug Hannamon, Bill Burkles and others who I can't remember. I remember Larry Eriwn shooting from a long distance with a pellet gun and hitting you right on the end of your "da kine". That shot ended our little war.
When I saw you name, I had forgotten what a part of the Point Dume life you, Larry Erwin and Tom Franks were for those few years. The memories are good and them make me smile inside. I can't think about that time without Dusty's smiling face popping into my mind. Its good to hear all these familiar names and know, for the most part, everyone survived those wild times and they still doing well.......
