Hi Dusty

I have always considered you a friend and my brother, Larry, always considered you a best friend. When Larry came out in 1999 for the High School Reunion it was a highlight of his life. Having MS and with Larry not knowing what it was going to be like, I have to say that ever time I see him he talks about how great the time he spent with you and Denise (and Billy Carter) was. The picture of you giving him a shower (when he couldn’t do it alone) in your out door shower is the best. The way you…See More

The way you opened up your house back in the late sixties and then in 1999 tells who you are and living there in 68 or 69, I can’t really remember, made a big difference in my life. The sixties were a different time and sometimes I’m not sure what happened but I do know that knowing you then and now and getting to met Denise and your family has been something I will always hold close to my heart.

Russel, I didn't know about Larry Mann. What is happening in your life? We are currently living in Redding, Ca. Ben is in Portland. Michael is in College and Angie is 15. I say no more....I've been doing a lot of things, mostly in survival mode. No great wealth or successes to speak of. But Wendi and I are still in love and life still holds many adventures. My dad is still kicking at 87, but not very well. He is way gone with alzheimers. Doesn't know anyone or anything. My mom is pretty healthy, though and still doing well. Tom is in Kaui and Susie is on Oahu. Denny, Gary and Chris are still in the LA area. Denny is the live in care giver for my dad most of the time. Chris is a studio set builder and Gary is a longshorman down in Long Beach. Jim is in Oxnard and doing construction, repair work. That is everything in a nutshell.
Awesome to hear about TK winning the great race. Who could guess!! What about you? remarried? I'm still thinking about coming down for the Little Dume paddle out tomorrow. I'm waiting for the motivation. I think if Wendi suddenly got inspired I would come down, but I hate the long drive alone and considering we have been down there 5 times in the last few months, who knows. Good to hear from you.
Bruce was in town a year or so ago battling a form of throat cancer. He has beaten it so far with a clean bill of health. He is living on Kaui. I see and talk to Scott all the time. I went for a surf at Little Dume a few weeks ago with Scott Mulder and a few other friends. Ran into familiar faces and old friends everywhere I went. No matter where you live, we just don't seem to duplicate the friends and relationships that were a part of our lives in Malibu or growing up on Santa Monica.
I was down around 3rd and California a few weeks ago telling Wendi how we used to walk from your apartment down to sorrento. Santa Monica was a different place then. I drive back to my old neighborhood and its yuppieville and snob city. But I still like being back there. Lets connect next time I am there.......Steve

Do you remember your brother Larry shooting the pellet gun and hitting Bill Carter on the da kine? Or was it you? Sometimes that memory is so vivid its as if it happened yesterday.. All these familiar names and faces from the past have brought back some classic memories. Steve
